Rayhaan Vantage: The $40 Amouage Decision We've Been Waiting For

· Jason Cardenas

This is Rayhaan's answer to Amouage Decision

I've been watching the Rayhaan Vantage hype build for weeks, and I finally spent enough time with it — and with what the community is saying — to give you my honest take.

Let's get the obvious out of the way: yes, this is Rayhaan's answer to Amouage Decision. And it's a good one. Reviewers who own both put the similarity around 75-80%, with the opening being the closest match. The frankincense-myrrh-cardamom blast up front is immediately recognizable if you know Decision.

But Vantage isn't a photocopy. Where Decision leans into a smooth, smoky, almost leathery church-incense depth, Vantage stays brighter and more linear. The bergamot and pink pepper keep the resins from going full cathedral — it's meditative and ambery, but there's a freshness running through it that makes it easier to wear day to day. Several reviewers noted their partners preferred Vantage over Decision for exactly this reason.

The drydown is where it really wins people over. After the spicy-resinous opening burns off, it settles into a warm amber with clean cedarwood and a touch of vanilla sweetness. It's the kind of base that makes you keep bringing your wrist to your nose.

Performance is legitimately strong: 8-12 hours on skin is the consensus, with heavy projection for the first 4-5 hours. Multiple reviewers warn not to overspray — two to three sprays will carry you through the day. One caveat from the community: fresh bottles can smell harsh or thin out of the box, and Rayhaan fragrances are known to need a few weeks of maceration to round out. If your first sniff feels sharp or synthetic, give it time.

Who is this for? If you like incense, resins, and that contemplative frankincense-myrrh character, this is an easy recommendation at the price. If incense isn't your thing, nothing about the value proposition will convert you — this is not a blind buy.

The value is the story here. Decision runs several hundred dollars. Vantage gets you three-quarters of the way there for around $40-48. In a market where 'affordable alternative' usually means a pale imitation, the community consensus is that Rayhaan actually pulled it off.

My verdict: one of the most exciting Middle Eastern releases of 2026, and an easy add to the catalog. Just let your bottle sit for a couple of weeks before you judge it.
