Everything you need to know about buying and selling on Air Decants.
Contact us →When you place an order your card is authorized — not charged. Think of it like a hotel hold: the funds are reserved but stay in your account. The charge only happens once the seller confirms they've shipped your order, and it's often less than the authorized amount if the seller ships fewer items than expected.
Authorization holds expire after 7 days if the seller hasn't responded. If that happens your hold is released automatically and you owe nothing.
Yes. ACH bank transfers are accepted at checkout and have no processing fee added. ACH payments are captured immediately rather than held, so the funds leave your account when you place the order. ACH transfers can take 1–3 business days to settle, so your order may show as "pending" briefly.
Signed-in buyers can find all orders under My Orders. If you checked out as a guest, use the View your order link in your confirmation email — it's unique to your order and expires after 30 days.
You can request a cancellation before the seller ships. Go to your order and use the cancel option, or email contact@airdecants.com with your order number. Once the seller has confirmed shipment the order can't be cancelled, but you may be eligible for a return — see below.
Return policies are set by each individual seller and shown on their storefront. If you have an issue with your order — arrived damaged, wrong item, didn't arrive — reach out to us at contact@airdecants.com and we'll help make it right.
Some sellers offer local pickup for buyers in their area — no shipping cost and no wait for transit. Coordinate directly with the seller via the contact info on your order confirmation to arrange a pickup time and location.
Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it's not there, confirm your email address was entered correctly at checkout. Still nothing? Email us at contact@airdecants.com with the name and approximate time of your order and we'll look it up.
You'll receive an email as soon as a buyer places an order. Go to your seller dashboard to accept or decline. Accepting confirms you'll fulfill the order. Declining releases the buyer's authorization hold immediately.
You have 7 days to respond before the hold expires automatically. Try to respond within 24 hours so buyers aren't left waiting.
Once you mark an order as shipped, the buyer's card is captured and your earnings are transferred to your connected Stripe account, minus the platform fee (5%) and Stripe's processing fee. Payouts follow your Stripe Express payout schedule — typically 2 business days after capture for US bank accounts.
Air Decants charges a 5% platform fee on each order subtotal. Stripe's processing fee (typically 2.9% + 30¢ for cards, or 0.8% capped at $5 for ACH) is also deducted. Both are shown in the order breakdown before you ship. There are no listing fees or monthly charges.
You set your own shipping policy on your storefront — combined, per-item, free, or a flat rate. Once you accept an order, package it securely (decant bottles are fragile — bubble wrap and a rigid outer box are recommended), ship it, and mark it as shipped in your dashboard with a tracking number. That's what triggers payment capture.
Go to Dashboard → Settings and complete Stripe onboarding. You'll need a bank account and basic identity verification. You won't be able to receive orders until onboarding is complete.
The buyer's authorization hold is released immediately — they're never charged. They'll receive a notification. Frequent declines may affect your seller standing, so only list items you can actually fulfill.
Air Decants is a peer-to-peer marketplace for fragrance decants — small samples of full bottles that let you try a scent before committing to a full purchase, or explore niche and discontinued fragrances that are hard to find elsewhere. Sellers are fragrance enthusiasts who decant from their personal collections.
