The Twilight Saga: New Moon by Scentbird — Full Review: A Warm Hug in a Bottle

Twilight New Moon: Scentbird's cozy vanilla-caramel-amber scent

I'll be honest: I did not expect a Twilight collaboration to be the cozy-fall sleeper hit of October. But here we are.

New Moon is Scentbird's second drop with Lionsgate, following a debut Twilight scent that became one of their top sellers. It launched October 1st as a Scentbird exclusive, and the early reception is genuinely strong — 4.5 stars across 64 ratings on their platform, with the community tagging it overwhelmingly Warm and Sweet. I went in curious about the fandom tax. I came out thinking about the vanilla.

THE SCENT

Forget the debut scent's notes if you've seen them floating around (plum butter, tuberose — that's the first one, not this). New Moon opens with ginger flower, which gives the first few minutes a bright, slightly peppery lift. It's pretty, not sharp — think fresh ginger rather than spice jar.

Then the heart does what it was built to do: Tahitian vanilla and warm caramel melt together into something genuinely cozy. This is the part sweet-leaning buyers keep noticing. It's not a thin, synthetic vanilla — it's rounded, honeyed, the kind of sweetness that feels like a blanket rather than a candy store.

The base of amber and sandalwood grounds everything. The amber gives it that "glowing" warmth the brand talks about, and the sandalwood keeps it from floating away into pure gourmand territory. Hours in, it's a warm, sweet skin scent with a woody backbone.

PERFORMANCE

No one's putting specific hour counts on this yet, but the vanilla-caramel-amber structure is built for longevity — these are all notes that cling. The brand promises "a warm trail that lingers," and based on the composition, I'd believe a full workday is realistic. I'll update this when wearers start reporting actual numbers.

SILLAGE

The community tags tell the story: Warm (54%) and Sweet (25%) dominate, while only 8% tagged it Strong. This is a cozy scent, not a loud one. Expect a soft, inviting bubble rather than a projection monster. It'll get noticed up close — that's the whole point of a scent like this.

OCCASION

Fall. Obviously. This is a sweater-weather scent through and through — the vanilla-caramel warmth was made for crisp air. Evening and date night are the natural fits; there's something inherently intimate about a warm, sweet amber. It could work as

a daily fall signature too, since the projection stays polite.

THE VERDICT

New Moon is better than it has any right to be. Strip away the Twilight branding and you've got a genuinely well-constructed cozy amber — warm vanilla, melted caramel, grounded by sandalwood. The 4.5-star reception isn't just fandom; the composition earns it. At $4.95 for a sample vial, it's the lowest-risk blind buy of the season.

Worth sampling if: you love vanilla-amber coziness, want a fall signature, or like sweet scents that stay soft.

Skip if: you hate sweet fragrances, or the Twilight tie-in is a dealbreaker (though the scent doesn't need it).
