Mykonos' New Wave: The $25 Extraits Coming for Your Favorite Designers

· Jason Cardenas

Mykonos upcoming releases

If you haven't heard of Mykonos yet, here's the short version: an Indonesian fragrance house that went viral on TikTok selling extrait-strength scents for around 25 to 30 dollars — and built a reputation for taking on designer giants so convincingly that launches sell out in hours and resellers flip bottles at two to three times retail.

Now a fresh wave of releases is hitting, and the target list reads like a greatest-hits of designer perfumery.

Inception Reimagined is being billed as a hybrid of Louis Vuitton Imagination and Sospiro Vibrato — the fresh LV citrus-aromatic DNA crossed with Vibrato's richer character. The original Inception was already one of the brand's most talked-about scents, so a reimagined version is a big deal for fans.

Daydream is positioned against Frederic Malle's Acne Studios par Frederic Malle — a bold target, and one to watch.

Monaco Royale Black takes on Paco Rabanne's 1 Million Elixir, the gold standard of party scents. If Mykonos nails that warmth at extrait strength for under thirty dollars, this could be a monster.

Shape Shift is being talked about in the same breath as Byredo Blanche and Louis Vuitton City of Stars — clean, musky, urban.

Reflection Elixir needs less introduction. Reviewers already call it a one-to-one Louis Vuitton Symphony — fruitier and longer-lasting (nine-plus hours) than the original Reflection — and it's now getting a new 100ml bottle.

President goes straight at Creed Absolu Aventus, the most duped designer scent on earth and still the benchmark.

Constantine is the quiet one: cardamom, pineapple and mandarin over jasmine, lavender and amberwood, drawing comparisons to Azzaro The Most Wanted Intense with a cleaner, fruitier twist.

Bonfire Vanilla might be the consensus pick of the bunch. Reviewers call it the best Maison Margiela By the Fireplace alternative — spicier and more gourmand than the original, with beastly longevity — and it's also getting the new 100ml bottle.

Deja Vu rounds out the wave, positioned against Valentino's studded pink lineup.

These join an already stacked catalog. Empire — the brand's esports collaboration with RRQ — channels Louis Vuitton Afternoon Swim and Creed Virgin Island Water and holds the line's highest community rating. Dreamscape remains the most-reviewed Mykonos scent and the people's choice God of Fire dupe, opening with juicy mango before drying down warm and woody.

Here's why this matters. Mykonos has a problem most brands would kill for: everything sells out. US buyers used to hunt Indonesian resellers just to get a bottle. That's finally changing — Jomashop, Spraykart, and the brand's Perfumelo partnership have brought the line stateside.

Still, at these prices and with this demand, blind-buying a full bottle is a gamble. That's exactly what decants are for — try the twenty-five-dollar extrait for a few dollars before you commit to the hunt. We'll be watching these releases closely.
